Jo Cottrell MA, PhD, FRSA is an art historian and independent scholar, with 30 years of experience of working in the arts and cultural sector. She is continuing her research in the field of British Modernism, with a particular focus on women artists connected to the Vorticist movement.
Prior to her freelance career Jo has worked for some of the most prestigious arts organisations and educational institutions in the UK, including the Theatre Royal Plymouth, Royal Shakespeare Company, Soho Theatre, Hampstead Theatre, and Trinity Laban. As an independent arts manager Jo’s past clients include The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Birmingham Repertory Theatre, and Pacitti Company.
Jo is a trustee of the Estorick Collection, and the Hackney Empire Preservation Trust, and works as a tour guide for TATE galleries as part of her ongoing voluntary work.
